Wulf Clifton and Tina Hollis have been in the antique business for over 30 years. In 2004 they bought the "Old Feed Mill" in Scales Mound and began its restoration. Renamed "Dr Woodchucks", this building was built by James Allan in 1873 and is on the National Historic Register. The first floor has been converted into an auction facility and they have been holding auctions for three years.
In April 2005 Wulf and Tina began restoration of the opera house on the second floor. The new Allan Opera House debuted in August 2007 and is now available for rental for auctions, dances, meetings or any other social event.
Dr Woodchucks Emporium consists of the following divisions: • Auctions. Consignments of antiques, firearms, sporting goods, tools, etc...are regular fare. Contact us for rates and schedules. • Hall Rental. Either floor is available for rental for dances, meetings, receptions or whatever your desire. • Wedding Packages. Open 15 April through 15 October. Complete packages including minister, catering, flowers and facility are economically priced for a rustic and romantic celebration. • Antiques. Wulf and Tina have collected for years and have for sale a very eclectic collection for sale.
